#26 What if Surrender were the secret to flow with life?

What if surrender were the secret to flowing with life
modern coming soon poster with stay tuned message

You don’t need to understand life to love it.
Feel your faith, and you will be able to surrender to what comes.

The Ego’s Last Door

I need to tell you that you cannot truly ‘lose’ hope. Perhaps you’ve heard that hope is the last thing to be lost, but in truth it is only so for your ego. It is the last door your ego can walk you to… and when your ego loses it, it disappears as well.

Beyond that door, that veil, begins a dimension the ego cannot know: transcendence. And there you will enter with your heart. In truth, not even with your body. You will simply access it and feel it. You will step into the Divine.

When You Enter into Certainty

And how will you know? Because you will enter into certainty, and with it, into love. There is no other option, you cannot feel anything else. And then you will realize you never needed hope at all, because in certainty, hope is no longer necessary. Do you see it now? Those who cling to hope are the ones who, “in the end, when all is lost,” discover that what they lacked was faith.

This made me reflect deeply, because it forced me to examine my own faith. I kept repeating to myself: “Hope is for those of little faith. Those who have faith simply don’t need it.”

Certainty Lives in the Present

Hope lives in the future, but certainty lives in the present, because it can only be felt here and now. It is a lived experience. When you enter into certainty, you step into the eternal present, where nothing is missing and everything already is.

Surrendering Again and Again

I already wrote a post about surrender. But on this path, you’ll realize that surrender is never truly finished; you return to it again and again, only each time more deeply. In this stage of my journey, I am surrendering more fully. I want my surrender to grow wider and embrace more areas of my life. It has become my still waters of peace.

Your Still Waters of Peace

You’ll see that these still waters must grow larger and larger. With the passing years, the “small” fears no longer affect you, and the more delicate ones will remain at the shoreline. Have you ever dived deeper into the sea and noticed a current of much colder water flowing at the bottom?

Surely you stayed there a while, feeling it, until you decided to come back up. That’s how fear works. Suddenly you feel a cold thread touching you and trying to make its way into your still waters. There will always be a new cold current, but you must simply trust so that your still waters do not lose their warmth.

Acts of Faith

The spiritual journey requires acts of faith. And you must be willing to feel them and let them grow, even when they bring fear or solitude. This is one of the aspects that makes surrender difficult. Surrender takes place within you, regardless of what happens outside. And it doesn’t matter if you smile or try to appear brave. When the time comes, you will be alone, and you must go through it. By yourself, without deception. In certainty.

Acceptance of Life

Another aspect that makes surrender complex is the acceptance of your own life. Any challenge you face, any unresolved struggle, requires time for assimilation.

Ideally, you would want to understand what is happening in order to accept it. But this process can be long and painful if no explanation seems valid.

If that’s your case, let me tell you: you don’t actually need to understand what’s happening. It would help, but it isn’t necessary. You don’t need to understand to accept it. Your heart doesn’t need to understand; that’s not its language. The ego needs to understand. Your heart only feels.

The Wisdom of the Event

For surrender to happen, you must also accept that what is happening is exactly what is right for you in this moment of your life. This is not easy, especially if you haven’t resolved the point above. How can it be the right thing if my stability is collapsing and I feel fear? Because it is happening. That alone makes it the right thing. So you must let it be. You must contemplate the event and see how it enters your life and settles on your living room sofa as if it were its new home.

Love Your Faith

Now you must set aside the incomprehension and the anger of recognizing that it was the most inopportune moment, or that the event is repeating itself and is unfair. You cannot face it from anger. Nothing can be surrendered from that place.

The only way through is love. And it is not about loving the event itself — perhaps you cannot. But you can love your faith. How will you know? Because you will feel it within you. It will fill you and cover the spaces of fear.

Accepting the Passage of Time

You will also need to face the passage of time and individuality. The solution will arrive, but perhaps not for others to witness. Your life’s purpose may unfold when your parents are no longer here to see it. A certain accomplishment may come when you no longer have the health to fully enjoy it. A resolution may arrive when a loved one cannot be there to share it with you, and you must live it alone. Why am I telling you this? Because it is one of the areas of surrender that is hardest to feel and therefore accept and love.

Gratitude

Whatever happens, this is your life. You must live it with your whole family, with part of it, or even alone. And you must accept all possibilities in order to live without fear. Only then will you be able to surrender to whatever life has in store for you. Do you understand?

And this will give you the power to live the present as fully as possible, without postponing celebrations or good humor. In accepting your life as it is, you will find the key to gratitude in the everyday. Gratitude is the prelude to happiness.

The Destination Doesn’t Matter

Learn to accept your life with the cards you have been given, being grateful for each day you live. When you can be grateful for the endless journey regardless of the destination, then you can surrender to the journey and the experience itself. Without fear, loving each day without needing the hope of some “unfulfilled” desire. Because you are already complete in the present and open to fulfilling everything tomorrow, the day after tomorrow, or never. The destination itself doesn’t matter (it never did!); what matters is what you feel in your heart each day. That is the journey.?

Your Sacred Symbol

If you don’t already have one, I encourage you to choose a pendant with the symbol of your faith or belief.

It doesn’t matter which one — what matters is that it feels special to you. Because its power does not lie in the object, but in what it awakens in you. Even better if it touches your skin. It may be a tattoo, a bracelet, a chain, a ring — whatever it may be.

Find something you can look at or touch, so you can “remember” your faith. It can become your sacred amulet. Your credo. Your catalyst. And the more you look at it or touch it, the more you will remember that you are protected and supported by something greater than you, something you can feel.

When my ex-wife moved with my little daughters to another state, I bought myself a pendant with a cross. It was heavy enough that I could always feel it resting on me, “accompanying me” through every moment and every fear. You’ll know when it’s time to get one.

It Is Always You

Keep this in mind: every process of surrender is about you. Every surrender begins and ends in you. Nothing happens outside of you. And if you are okay, everything will be okay. It cannot be otherwise. This is how the Universe works.

When your consciousness encounters an event, it does not show you something you can manipulate or invent. Your consciousness reflects what is true in your present moment. And your perception of what happens will depend on where you place your energy: on injustice and fear, or on love and the potential of infinite possibilities. And to feel that infinite potential, you will need your faith.

The Universe Changes for You

Each time you feel a cold thread of fear, step out of the living room and lean against a wall. Close your eyes, touch your symbol, and declare that it doesn’t matter how the world appears right now. It does not matter who is sitting on the sofa. It does not matter if it feels unfair, incomprehensible, or painful, because with your limited intellect you are only seeing a tiny fraction of the divine plan. Remember: you cannot see the whole plan, but you can feel it. The event is not your enemy. It is not evil. The event is pure energy. It is the Universe changing for you.

Repeat: “I don’t need to understand, I only need to feel.”

Close your eyes, return to the still waters, hold on to your faith. Feel the certainty.
